The name sure sounds like an epic event and without any doubt makes a great name for a game with great quality, Asphalt 9 Legends. There is no chance that you’re a game lover and you’re not aware of Asphalt car racing games released series after series over the years.
The first release was for the Nokia N-Gage platform almost 15 years ago. Ever since then, it has been a long-lived love story between high-speed car racing lovers and Asphalt.
One thing is often talked when Asphalt is mentioned and that’s the visuals. It keeps getting better. Perfect colour combination with just the right intensity. You can imagine playing Asphalt 9 with the latest Tecno Phantom 9 or Infinix Hot S4 Android smartphones; it’s going to be awesome!!!!
Having set the base from the first Asphalt game in terms of visual and unique style, the subsequent series were made sure to come with noticeable improvements. There are always new tracks added, more cars on the roster and of course, more icing on the visuals.

It has been a long road from the first Asphalt racing game and here we are with the 9th series, the Asphalt 9: Legends totally free to download and play on your Android or iOS device unlike the Asphalt 8: Airborne which wasn’t free from the beginning but was later made free.
The Asphalt 9: Legend just as expected comes with more cars and more tracks all to give us the fun experience of flying in supercars of our choice through a wide road yet with the fear of hitting or getting hit.
To say the Asphalt series has been successful will be talking too careful and even so much is expected from the current series. The last series got more than 100 million downloads for both Android OS and iOS.
Yet again if there is anything anyone will pick out of the Asphalt 9: Legends it would be the visuals. Obviously better than what we had in Asphalt 8.
So many pieces combine to make this possible one easily noticed is the motion blur effect. Motion blur effect makes the immediate environment of the speeding cars to become blur allowing normal vision only for the car. Of course, the idea is to portray the car as moving in high speed and with motion blur, this is fully achieved.
This you can find in many Arcade games but it doesn’t get better as the one showcased in Asphalt 9 at least for now.
Another thing is beautiful and varying lighting. One so noticeable is the coloured lighting the surrounds the back of the car as the car speeds and it increases as you choose to go for nitro.
The lighting also changes like the setting changes to make the car stand out and be seen.
Have you ever seen some huge sparks due to the collision of 2 materials? Asphalt puts this effect into good use by making sure the sparks are created when the car hits the ground from a high flying distance or when there’s a contact with another car or the wall. This makes it look super real.
Down to the control, every gamer is left with an option to use TouchDrive. This means the gamer doesn’t control some certain features like the brakes, accelerating or turns. This is rather a disadvantage as I felt I needed to be more in control than what was allowed.
Taking away the default TouchDrive feature I am fine with every other thing the game has to offer.
