How to close a bank account with a mobile phone incase of emergency

Many Nigerians have lost all their life savings to fraudsters simply because they are unaware of the right step to take in order to block or close a bank account that may have been compromised. According to my friend, his UBA ATM card detail was compromised; the scammer used the card detail and created a new Amazon account with his bank account name, and then purchased some Amazon Gift cards worth $1500 ($500 x 3). This was more than his life savings with the bank.

Though this happened during the weekend, but if he had acted fast by closing or blocking the account when he received the first purchase debit alert, it would have saved him a lot of money.

Knowing how to block or close your bank account is very important because in times of emergency, running to the bank might be too late- most especially during the weekends.
