iTel Mobile introduced a new affordable Android smartphone to its A-basic series recently in Nigeria without much publicity. The new phone is called iTel A33, and it features a fingerprint scanner which iTel claims can perform 8 functions. This latest basic smartphone comes with a 5-inch display and other simple features at a cheaper price in Nigeria and other African countries. Here, we are going to look into some of the features of this device and where you can get the best deal.

Design and Display

Just like most iTel smartphones on the A-basic series, iTel A33 comes with a plastic body which protects its internal metallic frame. The design is beautiful, smooth, and feels comfortable to hold in your hands because of the compact nature of the phone. You can also see the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, vertically arranged below the rear camera and LED flash. On the right-hand side are at the power button and the volume rocker. The company also spiced up the design by making the phone available in three colour variants which include City Blue, Black, and Champagne Gold.

The phone comes with a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels (196 ppi pixels density). The touchscreen is big enough for a great visual experience when watching your favorite movies and playing games.

Camera-wise, iTel A33 comes with a single 5MP rear camera to capture the best moments. With the help of the rear LED flash, the pictures shot with the camera is well lit and clear, even in a low light environment. For selfies and Face Unlock, the Android smartphone sports a 2MP with a LED flash. Although the cameras are quite poor, but it is still manageable when compared to the price the phone is been sold for in Nigeria.

In terms of battery, the phone boasts of a removable Li-ion 2,200mAh battery without fast charging technology. So, don’t expect the battery power to go beyond a day on heavy usage, just like that of itel P32 or P33.

In terms of hardware, the iTel A33 is powered by a Quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor clocked at 1.3GHz, alongside the Mali-400 GPU. It comes with a 1GB of RAM and 16GB expandable storage. The smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition.
