Realme 5 Pro Review: The Killer performance within the Budget

Realme has launched its new smartphone, The Realme 5 Pro as a successor of the Realme 5 pro. The launch of a successor in such a short span of time can result in a market inequality between the two. Anyways, let Realme handle their market policies. We focus on the smartphone.

Realme 5 Pro is something new on the table. The main attraction of this smartphone is its quad-camera setup and the processing power. Before making further comments on the smartphone and generate a review, we will have to conduct a good test run and see what is inside the phone.

I prefer to examine a certain smartphone in various categories. These categories help one to understand the full potential of the smartphone. The categories are mentioned as follows:

  • Design
  • Display
  • Performance
  • Camera
  • Battery
  • Sensors and Other Features
  • Water Resistance

Let us not roam around aimlessly and focus on what we were supposed to do. Let us dig into the review real quick.

Design: Awe-Struck Design!

The smartphones in today’s market are really working on the outlook of the products these days as people ar4e buying smartphones as a style statement. The smartphone brand was quick to acknowledge that, and they started playing and experimenting with designs and vibrant colors. In this realm five pro review, we will be witnessing that Realme has also come ahead of the game and started experimenting with new gradients and color combinations.

Realme 5 Pro comes in two awesome variants; one is Crystal Green, and the other one is Crystal Blue. Both the phones are really good and premium looking. But they are build-out of high-density polymer plastic. The frame and the back are made out of the same plastic. This is a sacrifice that you must consider when you intend to buy a smartphone at a Budget price point.

And

However, there are some rays of hope when it comes to the front part. The screen has a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 plus to provide protection from scratches and dust. The body does take some scratches as it is made out of plastic. Good thing that Realme cared to provide a clear rubber case in the box for further protection.

Now let us talk about the dimensions. The phone has a length of 6.18 inches, a width of2.92 inches, and a height of 0.35 inches. The size of the smartphone is very comfortable to hold, and the gradient finish makes the phone stand out. The weight is just around 184 grams.

Overall the build quality is pretty good comparing to other phones in this price range. But Realme would have won the hearts of the consumers if they went for a metal body or a glass back.

I liked the design and finishing of the phone’s outlook, and it will certainly look sexy in people’s hands. I would like to rate it a solid 8 out of 10. A glass back or a metal frame would have elevated the rating a bit higher, but the phone is a good one as it is for now.

Display: Realme Playing Safe with IPS LCDs

Realme is intending to keep things a bit more precise and safe by installing an all-time favorite IPS LCD display measured 6.3 inches. The display has been very popular in the smartphone arena, and with a teardrop notch, Realme 5 Pro is looking solid.

The display supports a full high definition with a resolution of 1080 pixels into 2340 pixels. The aspect ratio is 19:5:9, and the PPI density count is approximately 409. The display is very bright, and the color is very vivid and eye-catching. The nits count is 450 nits as they are promoting such numbers in the advertisements.

We took out the phone outdoors, and it really did a great job in bright environments and sunlight. The adaptive display brightness did justice whatsoever.

Overall the display is pretty good. But fans do hope for AMOLED nowadays where brands like Samsung and others are also offering AMOLED displays in such price points. But the display did a fair job and it really been working just fine. I rate this an 8.5 out of 10.

Performance: Snapdragon, Surprise, and More!

Before going further in the realm five pro review, we will have to admit the fact that The Realme 5 Pro has been a decent powerhouse when it comes to the performance of the device. When we are talking about the performance, we need to look at the hardware and the software sector at the same time to have a clear understanding of the collaboration of the sectors. So let us tear down the phone first and see what is inside the hood.

Hardware

When we are talking about the hardware, the first thing on which our eye goes is the chipset and the processing power. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 712. This is an excellent chipset comparing to the Mid-Range smartphones out there. The 10 Nanometer chipset has eight core in total. Two of them are 2.3 GHz Kryo Gold and the rest Six are 1.7 GHz, Kryo Silver.

There is a dedicated Graphics Processing Unit of Adreno 616. It gives an extra kick to the performance. There are two variants in the Ram sector. One is 4 GB, and the latter is 8 GB. The storage is also of two variants; 64 GB and 128 GB. There are three models up for grabs in the market; 4GB RAM and 64 GB Storage, 4 GB RAM and 128 GB Storage, and 8 GB of RAM and 128 Gigs of internal storage. The RAM and the storage suit the processing power pretty well and give a real boost during heavy multitasking and graphics and performance intense gaming.

Software

The platform is Android bases as if it was needed to be told! This device runs with the latest Android 9.0 Pie. But there is a ray of hope. This device can be upgradable up to Android 10. The User interface is an In-house UI by Realme themselves. The experience of the UI is very swift and sleek. There is no lag by far in our review unit.

Hardware and Software have been working simultaneously to give a fair and fast performance and let the user a great experience whatsoever. I personally liked the performance very much, and I would like to rate it a solid 8.5 out of 10. Realme has done a pretty good job in this sector.

Moto G5s Plus Review

Camera: Quad Camera Magic!

Realme has not failed to amaze us again with yet another smartphone with solid camera hardware, and after taking some pictures and shooting some videos, I must tell you are up for a treat!

The Rear camera has a quad-camera setup. The main camera is 48 Mega Pixels Wide camera with an aperture of f/1.8 followed by an eight mega Pixels 13-nanometer ultra-wide camera with an aperture of f/2.2. There is a depth sensor of 2 Mega Pixels with an aperture of f/2.4. The last camera is a 1.75-micrometer macro lens of 2 Mega Pixels with an aperture of f/2.4.

A lot is cooking in the quad-camera setup. The stand out feature is undoubtedly the main camera and the macro camera altogether. The pictures are pretty sharp and crisp. Age detection is pretty neat in portrait mode, and the depth sensor really does its job quite nicely.

And

On the front-facing camera, however, there is a 1.00 Micrometer wide 16 Mega Pixels Camera with an aperture of f/2.0. The selfies are pretty neat and reasonable. Age detection works fine but does tone up the skin a little bit.

The videography supports up to 4K resolution at a frame rate of 30 frames per second, 60 and 120 frames per second. But image stabilization is not available while recording in 4K. However, it does a pretty neat job of stabilizing the image when recorded in 1080p or Full HD. It also supports gyro-EIS while recording in 720p at 960 frames per second.

Overall the camera module is very decent, and the output is satisfactory. I have compared this camera with the other competitors even with higher megapixels, but this camera stood ahead of the game. This is very astonishing yet expected. I will give it a huge 9 out of 10 for great quality, especially in low light situations. Well done, Realme!

Battery: The Powerhouse with VOOC!

This bad boy comes with a huge non-removable 4035 MAh Lithium-Ion Battery to give all-day power supply. To be the icing on the cake, it has VOOC charging, so you can refill the juice up to 50% in only 30 minutes! This is some power, to be honest!
I would like to rate this a huge 9 out of 10 as well. The phone works all day, and you don’t need to worry about drying the battery out.

Sensors and Other Features: The Essentials

When I was writing the Realme 5 pro review, I was dazzled with the features and the performance of the phone itself. The fingerprint is rear-mounted and is in the perfect place. All the sensors like accelerometer, Gyro, Proximity, and Compass is included in the phone for a smooth performance.

Water Resistance: Splash Proof Delight!

The Realme 5 Pro is claimed to be splash-proof as all the inputs and jacks are rubber coated. So don’t worry if you have accidentally spilled your soda on the phone. Just rub it clean and get on with it, no damage was done. But don’t you think to dump it into the damn pool!
