Just as other Chinese mobile phone sub-brands like Xiaomi’s Redmi and Huawei’s, Honor were created to seek and infiltrate emerging markets where the parent companies are not present, Oppo created Realme sub-brand barely a year ago with the same mission. The idea was for the sub-brand to sell its Android smartphones in India and Southeast Asia markets and stay away from the developed markets where the Oppo brand is thriving- like its home country, China. But on May 15, Realme shifted its focus to the home country with the launch of the latest mid-ranger, called Realme X.
The Realme X which is claimed to be the upgraded version of the Realme 3 Pro was launched in Beijing along with the Realme X Lite. The smartphone comes loaded with a large display, impressive camera, top-notch performance, and other great features. The Realme 3 Pro lacks some popular features we have seen in some trending smartphones this year like 48MP camera, pop-up selfie camera, notchless display and many more. But the latest Realme X comes with some of these features at a pocket-friendly price. Now, let’s check out some of those features the phone comes with and the price.
Super Notchless AMOLED Display
The Realme X sports a big 6.5 inches notchless display with almost no bezels on the top and sides. There is no punch hole on the display to pose as a distraction; the resolution is FHD+ and the AMOLED panel is designed by Samsung. As it stands now, the Realme X has the company’s biggest display, offering a clear and bright panel that is attractive for watching videos and playing games. Instead of the usual rear fingerprint, Realme X hosts an in-display fingerprint sensor to keep up with the 2019 trend.
Impressive 48MP Camera
Some Android smartphones released this year like the Vivo V15 Pro, Redmi Note 7, Oppo F11, and many more come with the 48MP camera. In a bid to move with the trend, Realme arms this latest smartphone with a 48MP Sony IMX586 camera with f/1.7 aperture for clean and sharp photographs.
With this camera, you can take impressive and clear shots in a low-light environment, thanks to the Nightscape and the Chroma Boost feature onboard the sensor.
Super 16MP Pop-Up Selfie
When it comes to the selfie camera, spring-loaded motorized camera mechanism is the latest groove in the smartphone industry. Realme is not left out in the game as the company utilizes Oppo’s technology to bring a solid pop-up selfie shooter.
Realme X as one of the cheapest Android smartphones to sport a pop-up selfie camera, rocks a 16MP rising selfie shooter at the top of the device that rises in about 0.7 seconds and can retract automatically when detecting fall. The pop-up camera works well and can produce vivid selfie shots and clear video calls.
Decent Battery with VOOC 3.0
Deciding to include a decent battery to the top features is not because Realme X has the best battery capacity in the world, but for the fact that the smartphone supports VOOC 3.0 fast charging technology. In fact, the upcoming Vivo Y3 offers a solid 5,000mAh battery to compare with the 3765mAh battery the Realme X comes with. But the battery can easily take you through a full day on heavy usage.
Snapdragon 710 SoC and Price
The Realme X is powered by the mid-range 2.2GHz Octa-core Snapdragon 710 chipset which offers a smooth and lag-free performance. The phone also runs well optimized Android 9.0 (Pie) software with 4GB of RAM. The phone costs about $215 in China.
