Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G Design

When Samsung Galaxy Watch Active was released. Everyone hoped it to be larger. That request has been granted by the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G.

The display is easier to see at 1.4 inches, but it is still not as large as the one on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4G.

The classic design is elegant, and there are two materials to pick from durable stainless steel or lightweight aluminum.

The Galaxy Watch Active 2 also comes in a 4G model, albeit it is only available in steel.

The 1.4-inch AMOLED display is sharp and offers excellent viewing angles. The screen resolution has remained the same at 360×360 pixels, however, there isn’t any pixelation.

The display brightness of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G is automatically changed depending on ambient light.

The Watch Active 2 retains two tactile buttons on the right side of the watch casing, one for the back and one for home/all applications.

Bixby can be accessed by double-tapping the home button, while Samsung Pay can be accessed by long-pressing the back button.

The size of your display is determined by the size of your watch casing.

In terms of bezels, Samsung built the bezel surrounding the Active 2’s display touch-sensitive, enabling you to navigate the user interface by swiping your finger along the edge of the screen.

It’s quite handy and this more than compensates for the loss of a rotating side button.

Specifications, software, and features for the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G

The Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G retains the same fundamental

hardware as its predecessor, most notably its in-house dual-core Exynos 9110 SoC.

This is complemented by 1.5GB of RAM and 4GB of storage.

The Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G is powered by Tizen OS 4.0 with One UI 1.5 on top. This watch is IP68 certified, which means it should be water-resistant up to 5ATM, according to Samsung.

This makes it swim-proof, so you may go swimming without fear of damaging your watch.

Because of the larger dimensions, Samsung was able to fit a larger 340mAh battery.

Bluetooth 5, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, NFC, and GPS are all supported with the Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G. It also has an inbuilt SIM card, allowing the watch to connect directly to 4G networks.

Because the Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G runs Tizen, it is compatible with both Android and Apple devices.

To sync this watch with your smartphone and activate 4G, you’ll need the Galaxy Wearable app.

Another app, Samsung Health, is necessary to examine statistics such as your step count and sleep quality.

The UI of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G is identical to that of other Samsung wearables, and navigating through it is simple.

Samsung does provide a lot of functionality right out of the box, which is a good thing given that Tizen OS has a restricted amount of applications. Sleep and heart rate monitoring are enabled by default, and the watch can track a variety of exercises.

Battery life and performance of the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G

The Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G is light and easy to wear. Swiping right from the watch’s home screen brings you directly to your notifications. In addition, Samsung provides an always-on option, which keeps the watch face visible at all times.

When you get an incoming notice, the watch will buzz, and you may respond to it directly from the watch. To make responses, you may utilize voice, handwriting detection with a finger, or an on-screen number pad with T9 predictive input.

Because the Galaxy Watch Active 2 includes a speaker, you can accept calls while wearing it. This works even if the e-SIM is not configured on the watch. The speaker is powerful, but you’ll need to keep the watch near to your ear to fully hear a caller.

The Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G’s sleep monitoring is also accurate, and the data in the Samsung Health App provides a correct breakdown of awake time, light sleep, deep sleep, and REM sleep.

Heart-rate monitoring is likewise precise, with the Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G producing readings in the same range as the Apple Watch Series 4.

It  has a larger battery than its predecessor, but because of the larger display, it has comparable battery life as the Galaxy Watch Active.

Should you make a splurge on this one?

Samsung has been actively developing Tizen OS for its wearables for some years, and it seems to be more recent than Wear OS.

However, don’t be shocked if your favorite app doesn’t have a native version for the Galaxy Watch 2 4G, since support is currently rather limited.

On the plus side, it would be difficult to discover any important functions that are lacking from this one, since Samsung provides a lot of functionality on the gadget.

The Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G is an easy watch to recommend since it is fantastic at fitness monitoring.

Because there aren’t many Wear OS choices on the market, Android users will be pleased with what the Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G delivers for the price.

If you prefer a longer battery life, choose the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4G. If you own an iPhone, you may want to explore the Apple Watch Series 3, which is a nice option at around the same price.

Overall, it’s a solid all-around smartwatch.

Just be certain you’re purchasing it for the proper reasons. It can monitor your fitness, however, it isn’t the most precise fitness watch available. Blood pressure monitoring is also problematic, and Samsung’s app ecosystem falls short of the competition.

However, for many individuals, they are minor annoyances. If you’re looking for a good Wear OS alternative, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 is an excellent option.
