UPDATE: Tecno Camon 15 has been Launched with a punch-hole display, along with Tecno Camon 15 Pro with a pop-up selfie camera.
Reports from reliable sources reveal that Tecno is about to release a new budget smartphone into the Camon series. According to 91Mobiles, the Tecno smartphone will be called Tecno Camon 15 and it may be released in Nigeria before the end of February or March.

You may recall that Tecno Camon 12, Camon 12 Air, and Camon 12 Pro were released a few months back, and as far as Nigeria is concerned; the Camon 12 series is still very much new to the market. Many smartphone brands, as we know started this year with new smartphones featuring great specifications. In order to stay ahead of the competition in the Nigerian smartphone market, Tecno will be unveiling Tecno Camon 15.

The brand has also started sharing teasers of the handset via Twitter. The tweet shared by the company notes, “#NewYouWithCamon”, and the image shared reveals that the budget smartphone will sport a punch-hole display. The in-display camera cutout is seen on the top-left panel. The teaser did not reveal the kind of sensor the front will be equipped with but some sources claim it is 8MP. Also, the tweet shared by Tecno highlights the low-light imaging capabilities of its Tecno Camon 15.
Back to the topic of today. The Tecno Camon 15 comes with a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and 270 ppi pixel density. For optics, the budget smartphone will pack quad rear camera setup containing a 48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP. On the front, the buyers get an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls with features like Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection, Touch to focus.

Unlike the previous Tecno Camon series that are powered by Helio P22 processor or something similar, Camon 15 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor. This is definitely a great and timely upgrade from Tecno. The chipset will be paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB. For graphics, Tecno Camon 15 also gets Adreno 610. Not just that, the smartphone will run the Android 10Q.
The phone is backed by a 4000 mAh battery. The battery is manageable but can’t be compared to Tecno Pouvoir 3 Plus or Infinix Hot 8. But Notwithstanding, you can still check out this list of feature phones with a long-lasting battery you can buy to complement the smartphone.
