Today, we are going to compare the specs and price differences ( in the USA and Nigeria) between two flagship smartphones from Tecno and Redmi. From the first side is the latest flagship Android smartphone from Tecno called Phantom 9, and at the other end is Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 Pro. First of all, Tecno Phantom 9 was released in Nigeria 5 days ago at an event in Lagos, while the Redmi Note came onboard a few months ago( precisely March 2019). The Phantom 9 comes with a big 6.4-inch AMOLED display with about 83.3% screen-to-body ratio. Due to the large display and higher resolution pixels the smartphone is equipped with, the company used a Full HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) to ensure you get the best viewing experience. There is also a small U-shaped notch on top of the display and a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for extra protection to the screen. Now, to the Redmi Note 7 Pro, the Waterdrop notched 6.3-inch HD+ bezel-less display is one inch lower than the 6.4-inch on the Tecno Phantom 9, but both smartphones enjoy the same 1080 x 2340 pixels of screen resolution. Also, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro screen-to-body ratio is calculated to be 81.21%, a narrow margin lower than that of Phantom 9.

In terms of camera, Redmi Note 7 Pro’s 48MP primary camera beats the Phantom 9’s 16MP main shooter by huge pixel margin. The camera for Note 7 Pro is sharper and more detailed than the Phantom 9 shooter. Tecno armed Phantom 9 with a triple rear camera which contains 16MP + 2MP + 8MP while the Redmi flaunts a dual camera setup at the back containing a huge 48MP and a 5MP.

Under the hood, the Phantom 9 is powered by an Octa-core MediaTek MT6765 Helio P35 SoC clocked at 2.35GHz with PowerVR GS8322. To ensure fast processing, lag-free performance, and enough storage capacity; there is also a 6GB RAM and an expandable 128GB internal storage.
The Redmi Note 7 Pro, on the other hand, is armed with an Octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz that is based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset. To help in multitasking and storage, the 4GB/6GB RAM and the 64GB/128GB expandable onboard storage are efficient while the Adreno 612 GPU handles the graphical department.

Furthermore, the Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with a massive 4,000mAh battery capacity, while the Tecno Phantom 9 is powered by a 3,500mAh battery.

Before we tabulate the full specifications of these smartphones, let’s see their prices in the United States of America (USA) and Nigeria. Most online stores sales the Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 Pro for $259, which is approximately N94,000 in Nigeria. Phantom 9, on the other hand, goes for $213 which is around N77,000 in Nigeria.
