A reputable source just confirmed that the upcoming budget smartphones from Xiaomi called Xiaomi A3 and A3 Lite will feature the Snapdragon 700-series SoC.

The two Android smartphones are codenamed Bamboo Sprout and Cosmos Sprout respectively, the source confirmed in a tweet.
Although the tweet did not give the precise detail of the Chipsets that is to come with the Xiaomi A3 and A3 Lite, but our best guess is that the Xiaomi A3 Lite may be powered by a low Snapdragon 700 or 710, while the Xiaomi A3 may be armed with a more powerful Snapdragon 730 or 735. As we said, this is just a guess.

Rumors also have it that the Chinese company is working on a third Snapdragon 7XX-powered Android smartphone with codename “ Pyxis”. No much detail on that yet. We will update you once we have the full info.
It is gathered that the Mi A3 is a mid-range smartphone with a powerful SoC and an in-display fingerprint scanner. It is also believed to be the first Android smartphone of the series with an OLED panel.
