Today, we are going to look at this latest Android smartphone from Xiaomi called Mi 9T, the full specifications and the price in India. The phone was unveiled on Wednesday in the European market with high-quality cameras, top-notch performance, and an excellent display. In fact, Xiaomi Mi 9T has been tipped to be the rebranded version of the latest Redmi K20 which was launched in China a few days back.
According to a report from the Xiaomi India Managing Director, Manu Jain, Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro may be released in the country by July, with no specific launch date given. It was also gathered that the Redmi K20 will debut the Indian market as Mi 9T with a premium design and colors.
The Xiaomi mid-ranger offers some flagship-level specifications such as a pop-up selfie camera, pretty large AMOLED display, massive battery capacity, and a powerful processor. Not only that the phone comes with premium features, but the price in India is also affordable. Let’s delve into the features of this Android phone in full and the price.
Design and Display
As far as the design is concerned, the Xiaomi Mi 9T is beautifully designed with a moderately curved carbon fiber back. The 3D curvature fits comfortably when held in your hands and looks beautifully smooth.
The phone features a 6.39-inch bezel-less Full HD+ AMOLED display with a waterdrop-like notch and gives a resolution of 2,340 x 1080 pixels. The Mi 9T offers an ample screen-to-body ratio of about 91.9% for you to enjoy sharp and wide-screen content viewing. For additional protection, the Mi 9T is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass and also sports a high capacitive in-display fingerprint scanner.
Camera and Battery
If you can remember the trending Xiaomi Mi 9 smartphone released earlier this year with 48MP camera. The phone was and I think it is still one of the Xiaomi’s best-selling Android smartphone launched in 2019. The success recorded so far is not just because the phone is pretty much affordable compared to other premium devices from top brands like Apple and Samsung, but because the smartphone is armed with some premium features such as big battery and a 48MP camera. Mi 9T comes with a similar camera module and battery power.
The Mi 9T packs AI triple rear camera setup which includes a Sony 48MP ultra-high-resolution wide camera, an 8MP telephoto camera, and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera. These cameras are of high quality, capable of taking high standard photographs with a seamless zoom in from 0.6x to 10x. On the front, you get a 20MP mechanized pop-up selfie camera that snaps outstanding pictures.
The phone is powered by a 4,000mAh high-capacity battery that promises a full day of power. And when it is time to top up the power, just plug it in, and watch the phone get fired up swiftly with the 18W fast charger.
Hardware and Software
Mi 9T is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chipset which aids smooth multi-tasking. The 730 chipset which also powers Redmi K20 is paired with a whopping 6GB of RAM for speedy processing and running of apps, along with 128GB internal storage which offers enough space to store your files and media contents. We also understand that the phone has a smaller variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. For gamers and HD videos lovers, the Adreno 618 GPU handles the graphic perfectly at reduced battery consumption.
The Xiaomi Mi 9T runs Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 on top and there is an on-display fingerprint scanner.
Price and Availability
As mentioned above, the Xiaomi Mi 9T comes in two variants: 6GB/64GB which has a price tag of 329 Euro that is approximately Rs 25,800 in India, and a 12GB/128GB variant with a price tag of 369 Euro that translates to Rs 29,999 in India. Rumors have it that the Android smartphone is expected to launch in India in July. The expected color options are Carbon Black, Flame Red, and Glacier Blue.
